I must say that I loved this story, and I look forward to reading the next. With that said, I struggled in the opening chapters. I didn’t identify with any of the characters at first, which is admittedly a personal issue. Still, the personality of Asher can feel off-putting at first. I promise if you take his attitude with a grain of salt, then the story will explain, about halfway through. I feel like the initial hook of how the aliens interact with humankind kept me reading. There is a secondary hook that hits about a third of a way through the book that makes the pages seem like they turn themselves. I think that it was a fresh approach to an alien abduction story.
